Government
In 1998, Stephen Rosenzweig negotiated the purchase of a contract to provide medical examinations to elements of the U.S. Department of Defense. At the time of its purchase, the contract involved an antiquated and paper intensive process that was reducing efficiency and accuracy for the Department of Defense's Medical Examination Review Board. The processing time for medical examinations was long, the scheduling of medical examinations was disorganized, and the errors made by the doctors on the medical examinations were numerous.

GovernmentRequirments: This Government contract required Concorde to process 18,000 individuals who needed medical, dental, optometric, and audiometric evaluations prior to acceptance into a program. The contract also required Concorde to have a vast national network of physicians, nurses, and clinics in all 50 States, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Solution: After the acquisition of the contract in 1998, Concorde began to design a proprietary software application specifically for this program. The automated, secure, web-based application enabled applicants, physicians, and the Department of Defense to retrieve medical files online, schedule appointments, and check the status of an application. Concorde's dedicated Department of Defense Case Managers review all of the documents for completeness, "chase" incomplete paperwork or results, and forward completed packages to the U.S. DoD. The software application also allows the Department of Defense officials to view an interactive map of Concorde's providers throughout the U.S. and it's territories. Ultimately, the software designed for this contract has automated the medical examination process and increased the efficiency and accuracy of results.

Results:

  • Since 1998, Concorde has been re-awarded the contract twice.
  • Concorde has located, trained, and credentialed over 1,200 physicians, dentists, and optometrists in all 50 States and U.S. territories.
  • Concorde has exceeded the expectations and requirements of the contract.
  • In 2005, Concorde was awarded a contract to manage specialty referrals for applicants who need to clear waivers based on the results of their medical examination.
